How the Nuclear Reactions are categorized?

Nuclear reactions are broadly categorized in two different ways which are given below:

a. Natural Radioactivity
b. Artificial Radioactivity

Natural Radioactivity:
In this type if nuclear reactions there are a spontaneous change in the nucleus i.e. the nucleus changes itself. Hence in this type of category their can only be one nucleus which can be involved in the reactions. All these reactions come under the category of Natural Radioactivity.

Artificial Radioactivity:
The reaction which takes place artificially by the interaction of two nuclei come under this category. The artificial reaction takes place by bombarding a nucleus which is relatively higher with a nucleus which is lighter one. The nucleus of protium, helium comes under the lighter nucleus.
