What is electrostatic field?

When a charge q is placed near to any other charge q1 then it feels some force of attraction or repulsion. Hence we can say that the force experienced by the charge q is due to the generation of electric field by charge q1. so electric field of a charge in other words can defined as the space property by the occurrence of charge q changes the space around charge q1 resulting in the evolution of force on any charge held in vacuum.

The above definitions of electric field are somewhat complex. But in simple words, Electric field is the space around a charge in which electrostatic force of attraction and repulsion due to a charge can be felt by any other charge.

If the force applied by a test charge at a point is 0, then the electric field at that point will be also zero.
