Explain the mantis of arthropoda which belongs to non chordate phyla?

The mantis is also known as praying mantis. It resides on leafy vegetables. Their mouth is of biting and chewing type. They show cannibalism. The insects act as their source of food. They have strong forelegs to catch the prey. The forelegs have spine which raise them forward in a unique fashion. It helps them to grasp the prey. This is a unique feature of praying mantis. When it does not move it means it is waiting for the prey. They have mid and hind legs which help in walking. It destroys harmful insects and also acts as a source of food for the other animals.
