Plasmodium is the malaria parasite and has couple of hosts which include female anopheles mosquito and human beings. Female mosquito is the primary host of malaria parasite in which sexual phases occur. Human beings correspond to the secondary host of malaria parasite in which asexual phases occur. The female mosquito feed on human blood while the male mosquito feed on plant material. Female mosquitos also act as vector. As we know plasmodium is digenetic it has two different cycles. One occurs in female mosquito and other in man.
