Write a short note on the temperate deciduous forest region of biomes?

The temperate deciduous forest occurs in the northern and the southern hemisphere. The northern hemisphere consists of the America, Asia and Europe. The southern hemisphere consists of the Australia and Newzealand. They cover around 20 million kilometer square. The summers are warm with a moderate cold winter. They precipitate around 150 centimeter in a year. The flora and fauna are abundant in this region. The main vegetation consists of the dicot trees. They are also known as a hardwood with broad leaves. It includes the oak, elm, beech and poplars. There are many shrubs which shed their leaves in the autumn season. These are also known as fall. The spring season forms new leaves. There are the soft wood trees which are known as conifers. They are scattered along with the hard wood trees. In the suitable conditions 4 storeyed forest are formed. The trees with a height of around 30 to 40 meter occur in the top stratum. The under storey consists of small trees. It has an intermediate stratum of the shrubs and the ground stratum of grasses, ferns and lichens. The vines are also very common. The animal population consists of the frogs, snakes, lizards, rabbits, foxes, squirrel, deer, owl, sparrows etc. There are many birds which sing the song. In the winter season some animals migrate and move to the warmer areas. Some also go under the hibernation.
